Product Review: Bare Escentuals

I've been using Bare Escentuals for several years now.  I've tried several discount store versions of mineral make up to try to save money, but I always go back to Bare Escentuals because it really is a superior product. Here are some quick thoughts about all of their products I've tried:

Mineral Foundation: Absolutely recommend - especially great for blemish cover, but is just a super comfortable, effective foundation as well. When I started buying it it had a basic salt shaker type filter on it, but more recently they've upgraded to a more sophisticated twist filter that makes it really easy to get the right amount into the lid to apply.

Blush: I've been happy with all of the blushes I've used.  They blend easily, and a little goes a long way.  However, I think loose powder is a really inconvenient way to package blush, so I almost never wear mine because I usually end up doing my make up in the car.

Eyeshadow: Don't recommend it.  Ditto with the blush thing about being inconvenient, but this one is an additional downer in that it doesn't seem to stay on for any time at all.  Why go to the hassle of applying this stuff if it disappears an hour later!

Foundation Primer: Awesome product! Makes skin feel super smooth, so your foundation goes on better and stays on longer.

Lip Plumping Gloss: I think I just hate lip plumpers.  This has a great texture, but I don't like feeling like my lips are having an allergic reaction to my lip gloss.  I think my biggest issue is that the color I purchased (recommended by the consultant) is really awful on me.

Brushes:  These are really good brushes.  I've been using the original ones that came with my starter kit for over 2 years now, and they show no signs of wear.

Blemish Therapy: I don't think I can give a meaningful review of this product because I just haven't used it enough.  I think it's a really cool concept (a spot acne treatment that doubles as a concealer), but I haven't noticed any miracles the times I have used it, so it's never made it into my regular routine.

Recommend - Satin Pillow Case

I just found a new way to feel like a princess, and it turns out its practical and cheap too.  After a strange dermatological incident (Don't click unless you have a strong stomach!), I needed a new pillow cover.  I was thinking I'd just get one to go under my pillowcase, but I happened to see a satin pillow cover at Target, and was intrigued by the claim that it "Keeps Hairstyle In Place."  And...

I totally love it! It makes a huge difference in how my hair looks in the morning.  It's also really comfortable, and I've heard claims (can't verify) that it helps prevent wrinkles because it's not holding your face in a smooched position while you sleep.

Product Review - Mascara Maybelline Define-A-Lash

Wearing mascara takes you from just-rolled-out-of-bed to ready-to-roll.  But if your mascara ends up all over your face before noon, you end up wishing you'd never put it on!  That's where Define-A-Lash sets its self apart from most mascara I've tried.  It NEVER runs.

But wait there's more! Define-A-Lash sets itself apart from EVERY other mascara I've tried by being the most dramatic, most lengthening, and most thickening mascara ever.  It applies easily (no goops!), looks amazing, and stays where you put it.  Fantastic product!
